Welcome to Reel Relics

Classic Films

Movie Tickets

Reel Relics brings you those great, and not so great, films from the 1930’s to the 1960’s. You are free and welcome to view these films, and rate them. Links to download the movies in higher quality are also available for most films.

As new films are added they are categorized and tagged for (hopefully) easy searching. You’ll also find a link to related movies similar in theme to the one you’re viewing.

For more Vintage Horror, don’t forget to visit VintageHorror.com! You’ll find articles on classic horror writers, interesting links, and Vintage Horror Radio which brings you old time radio horror stories. If it’s old and creepy, we try to cover it!

All the films featured here are believed to be in the public domain.

Repairs Made!

Everything is working again! Sorry for the delay in getting the reels rolling once more. A change in the file format broke all the players, and as you'll see the original player is no longer. Because all the files are now mp4 and not flash, the site now uses the Quicktime player exclusively. As a result, the quality is better and the players are substantially larger. But you have to have Quicktime installed...

Mac users are all set. Windows users may have to install Quicktime to view the files via the player. It's free and available here. Sorry for the inconvenience.

More movies are on the way!

There won’t be, for the foreseeable future anyway, a Reel Relics podcast as I once had wanted. The issue is the large size of the files, and the computer power/patience/know-how needed to encode the files. Most video podcasts tend to be very short so those things aren’t much of an issue, but a feature length film, as you can imagine, is much larger. That’s why I decided on a website that offered a flash player as well as a link to download a higher quality version.
